Which of the following movies are based on the themes from Shakespeare's Ham!

Question: Thank you to all who responded to my other Hamlet related question. For an english assignment I am required to discuss how Hamlet's genre, discourses and character/s have relevance today in modern movies/films.
I rented out the following movies and I'd appreciate if people who have seen the movies know if theyre in anyway related to Hamlet:
- The home song stories
- Harry potter and the goblet of fire
- Munich
- The constant gardner
Also suggest any other movies you think are worth mentioning

I'm not sure about the movies you've listed. All the Potter stories are tied to fulfilling a promise cut short in his parents' death, but I think that's a stretch. Munich is a story of revenge, but I don't think that is too much like Hamlet.

I would say the characters have been recreated and Americanized in several films. Something like "Walking Tall" where somebody comes home to find all the good things have been corrupted and takes action are more prevalent. They have been cleaned up so the good guys win and don't die in the end.

"Star Wars" probably has some similarities in characters, but again, the ending is all hopeful.

The Godfather Saga would have some similar themes, I guess.

This is not a witness, but the story of Hamlet is mostly a human telling of the story of Jesus. The people of god had their faith destroyed by the Pharisees' leading the people away from the true nature of god, and the Romans had done the same in a secular way. Jesus "returns" to lay blame on the motherland and accuse Rome. Jesus is sacrificed and his body is carried away to deliver the promise of victory.

It is much easier to find the Christ figure in a story than it is the Hamlet, who is the Christ figure in his story.

I donno what you mean by modern. But the Lion King
is actually based off of Hamlet.

Don't listen to people who tell you that The Lion King is based on Hamlet. Other than the slight plot similarity of a king's thrown being taken over by his murderous brother, the two are not alike at all.
