How to Make a Horror Film
Steps
1. Get a scary idea for the movie.
2. Add scary and scratchy, eerily atmospheric music for suspense.
3. Add scary, screechy music for when something surprising happens.
4. Have a scary killer/ monster/whatever. (For some reason killers/monsters that don't talk are scarier than ones who do) 5. Make sure their motive is simple (revenge/insanity is good)
6. Make something completely ordinary the center of the drama (paper bag, telephone, toilet, doorbell, TV, videotape). If you do it well, it will be scary!
7. Have a plot twist (at the end or middle end).
8. Add good effects (if the blood looks like ketchup you not going to scare anyone!) If you choose to go with effects...that is. Its proven that a sudden moment of suspense without graphic bloody violence is more scary because the watcher's imagination finds the scariest possible outcome that they personally can imagine... much scarier than even a realistic gore fest... think De Niro's Hide and Seek... Scary because of the suspense, not because of the blood, or the realism of said blood.

Any of your ideas is good but if you need help on props and such Indy Mogul shows you how to make blood, guts, severed arms, and stuff. Hahaha it's great.

you should do one on a killer who lives in an old abandoned house, then a group of teenagers go to the house to check it out, then he starts murdering them one by one.

I dont know why I never believe scary films with urban legend or killer in town, I think id be more scared watching a psyco in the woods or something outside, like maybe this is too obvious..

but aload of people go camping for summer holiday near a beach, and even though you have the security of other campers/clubs/bars.. I could believe the killer story there. im not very good at thinking up stories sorry but that would scare me :)

would probobly be low budget as well!
