Fair or not?!?!
Question: I am 13. I've seen Sweeney Todd 7 times. My parents won't let me buy it on DVD because they think I will go around slitting peoples throats just because I've watched it in fine quality on a tv screen. I'm allowed to watch it on the internet. Is that fair?

I doubt that's the true reason your parents won't let you buy it. And even if it is it doesn't matter if it's fair or not ya gotta deal with it. We all have to deal with things that aren't fair/don't make sense. Even as adults, that's life. Do they know you've seen it on the internet?

Tell your parents to grow up.
Your 13, so anything your parents want to do to you is fair. You can't get what you want all of the time, but try acting more mature about it. Tell them, "Mom and Dad, I know why you disagree with me getting the movie, but I assure you that I am not crazy, I just think it is a brilliantly done movie and really like the acting, and the overall art of it."
Good luck, but if they still say 'no', don't pitch a fit because you will be proving their point. Remember that you get more flies with honey than vinegar, and that trust is earned. It takes a lifetime to build it and one time to break it. I never understood why kids tried to sneak out of the house and stuff like that when all you have to do is act right, be polite, and your parents will start giving you more freedom to stay out later, etc. Remember they are adults who don't like acting like kids. The sooner you start acting like and adult, the sooner they will give you more freedoms like buying a movie that you really want.

I am not allowed to watch it at all!!! I am 14, but I have seen it on the internet!!!! That is what my mom says too!!!!
I saw it in theaters with my mom and dad but they "hated" it, so their not going to buy it now - my mom made that clear. Hahah. Maybe my mom would if I asked and begged, but my dad would say NO WAY. I'm going to try to buy it without them, or just get it on itunes eventually.
I've been obsessed with it since November; it's going to be hard to wait any longer! At least they have it online!
