Who do you like more as a director, christopher nolan or quentin tarantino???!

Question: mine fav is christopher nolan as his storytelling is more innovative.

Answers: mine fav is christopher nolan as his storytelling is more innovative.

To me, it seems like apples and oranges. :) I like both directors a lot. Nolan's work is IMO more consistent--no real stinkers except for Insomnia (and even that was watchable to an extent), whereas I prefer Tarantino's earlier stuff to the recent work. But I can still remember the first time--and the subsequent three times--I watched Reservoir Dogs at the cinema; not even Memento was compelling enough for me to have repeated viewings in such a short span. Tarantino is more influential in that sense--how many people have imitated him since Reservoir Dogs, which was avant-garde at the time?

I know what you mean about Nolan, but I think Tarantino's narrative methods are just as innovative. He did out-of-order narratives before Nolan, remember. :) What I appreciate about Nolan is his use of flashbacks, memories, and questions of identity. I guess his themes are (arguably) more literary, in a sense.

So, I guess my final answer is that I don't feel I can praise the merits of one filmmaker over the other. But I am, subjectively, more *interested* in Nolan's movies overall than those of Tarantino.

Edit: Following was okay, for a first full-length feature. From it, you can see where he'd go with his subsequent movies (themes, style, etc.).

Tarantino. I love all of his Movies (Kill Bill, Pulp Fiction)

I love Nolan's work, but for my money there is no better director than Tarantino. His body of work is arguably the most impressive by a single person in the film industry. Nolan has done some great movies, Memento, Prestige, BB and certainly tDK, but nothing compares to Pulp Fiction and Reservoir dogs.

tarantino

Nolan has some good movies, Batman, Memento, but other than that the Prestige and Insomnia are not great.

Tarantino's movies are so classic. Pulp Fiction, Resevoir Dogs, Kill Bill are all better than Nolan's best movies. His new war movie Inglorious Bastards is going to be awesome.

So Tarantino for sure, not even up for debate.

Tarantino by far. He has made his mark in Hollywood as a graphic violent movie maker and his plots are sometimes full of humour. He is great!
