Answers: It's Cleopatra which was $290.2 million and was a total disaster at the box office

I assume you mean most expensive to make?

Titanic was up there for a while with 200 million. But I think POTC 3 and Spiderman 3 took that over... check out the website below, has a lot of fun stuff to look up

I belive it was,"Days Of Heaven" and it was disaster from start to finish, going waaaay over budget and, when it was released it was roundly trounced by the critics and the public stayed away in droves, bankrupting the studio

If you make the 1963 dollar amount equal to what it would be today it would be (according to experts)

Cleopatra

The most expensive movie in cinema history. But the epic drama starring Elizabeth Taylor and Richard Burton didn't punch its weight at the box office.

Studio: Fox
Release Date: June 12, 1963
Budget: $290.2 million

U.S. Box Office: $381 million
Foreign Box Office: Not available

(all dollar amounts in 2006 dollars)

i thought it was spiderman 3

just by monetary standards, the most expensive movie ever is spider-man 3, at $258million. adjusted for inflation, however, the most expensive movies ever are cleopatra in 1963, at $44million (inflation adjusted = $295million) and war and peace in 1968, at $100million+ (inflation adjusted = $500million+)

A Bollywood film called Devdas

Hi there.
Inflation being what it is, this is a moving target.
Michael Cimino's "Heaven's Gate" was budgetted at 7.5 million dollars in 1980 - he went on to spend 40 million, a huge sum back then. It took next to nothing and destroyed United Artists, which had to sell itself to MGM as a result.
Cheers, Steve.

water world with Kevin Costner was one of the most expensive movies ever made but it flopped big time

Titanic i think...all this cgi stuff is coming close but the silly ship is still up there

i read in a magazine it is spiderman 3

1.Cleopatra $290.3 million
2.Superman Reuturns $268.5 million
3.Titanic $250.2 million
4.Waterworld $231.6 million
5.Pirates of the Caribbean: Dead Man's Chest $223.1 million

Cleopatra. The 10 Commandments. Heaven's Gate.
