You can go to this page http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Movie_ratin... and it will tell you what the letters/numbers mean depending on which country you need it for. For example, the "LH" in Finland means "Not suitable for very young viewers (video only)". The "6" in Germany means "no children under 6 years admitted".
There is also a website http://www.kids-in-mind.com/ where they actually go into more detailed explanations as to what the violent, sexual and language content of the films are. It's very helpful in determining what you want your child to see. Hope that helps.
