harry potter is really good ... in the books but the movie doesnt capture the book very well. .. if the hp movie were longer it would be way better

Movie: probably Lord of the Rings because there's more action and I like the sets better. I still love HP though

the Movie Trilogy released in 2001, 2002, 2003 by Director/Producer/co-writer Peter Jackson deserves far greater commendation than the Harry Potter 7-fold series as yet incomplete - - publicity being streamed around the Internet is that the Harry Potter final book (Deathly Hallows) will be split into two halves. Some of the 7-part series have been quite disappointing (parts of GOBLET OF FIRE) but parts of PRISONER OF AZKABAN (directed Alphonse Cuaron) were amazing! The earlier animated attempts to film the Tolkien stories were severe understatements in relation to the Peter Jackson accomplishment.
Harry Potter all the way, I fell asleep during Lord of the Rings, I couldn't get into it.
I love the Harry Potter films and I'm a big fan, but I think the Lord of the Rings trilogy is amazing, so I'll go with that.

The Potter series is way too uneven. Some of the movies are really good, but some of them (OotP) aren't. Even the really good ones don't the epic feel of LOTR.
