Can Someone help me better understand the movie Schindler's List? I give 10 !

Question: This is a movie base on an actual person and a true story. Its the story of Oscar Schindler who was profiteering of the jewish who lived in the ghetto. He got free labor and made a lot of money. He had somewhat of a concious and during the course of the movie, he came to the realization that Amon Goth and the people of his type were really evil people. At the end, he had made so much profit and was going to skip town but he grew a pair basically. He bribe and bought every single person that worked in his factory from the nazis and moved them enmass to a factory own by him with the blessing of his nazi's bosses. He created a list of all those who were to go with him (thus his list) and everyone who was on his list survived the Holocaust. He used all his profit just not to see these people died and in the jewish faith and according to the movie, "someone who saves one person saves the world entirely". Which basically means that to save even ONE life is the grandest thing of all and by you saving that person you are saving generations of people to come afterwards. Think about it, someone saves your life and your future kid, grandkids, great grandkids and so on and so on are all saved by one event and one person. Oscar Schindler supposedly saved several 100s which eventually will turn in to millions (thus you have saved the world entirely).

Oh and Hitler does not make an appearance. All those people are just higher up in the Nazi/Gestapo food chain. Some are colonels and I think one was a general. Oscar just knew the people who were movers and shakers in the Nazi party by smoozing them.

What parts of the movie did you not understand? Add details and I'll edit my answer to help.

Okay Liam Neeson plays Schindler. Hitler is not played by any actor in the movie, you don't see him. Ralph Fiennes does play a higher up Nazi officer though, so he kind of embodies the Hitler persona. Schindler is categorized as the good guy and Fiennes is the bad guy. Schindler, who at the beginning of the movie is sort of a flashy playboy, changes his ways after seeing the devestation inflicted upon Jews at the local concentration camp. In order to save the Jews Schindler plays nice with the Nazis so the Jews can work in his factory. By giving the Jews jobs, he is essentially saving thier life because they are considered useful. Schindler ended up saving over a thousand Jews during the Holocaust because he kept recruiting more to work. If he was caught he could've been executed so you can see why his actions are so important. It is based on a true story.

what's not to understand? liam neeson starts out as a profiteering douchebag and eventually comes to see that the nazis are awful. he takes it on himself to try and keep the people who work for him alive and even undertakes to sabotage the war effort by sending deliberately useless materiel to the front.

Oscar Schindler was making money from free Jew labor during the holocaust, but became convicted by all the horrible things being done to the Jews, so he convinced his Nazi friend to allow him to transport a whole group of Jews into his factory to save them from death. All under the pretence that he needed them for his factory. By feeding all the Jews, he lost all the money he had made, but at the end of the movie he realized that he could have saved even more people if he hadn't withheld some of his luxuries.
