Can anyone explain "Vanilla Sky" to me?!

Question: I saw it again for the second time last night. And still a little confused.
The first time I saw it I thought he had just died in the car accident and basically everything from that point was his in between coma state before he died.
But last night it seemed after he met the guy in the restaurant, he commited suicide and the rest was the dream.
Was his suicide part of the dream? Was he dead all the time after the wreck? When he jumped off the building at the end, was he going back to his real life like the guy said? Or just more of the weird dreams?
There was also a scene where Cameron Diaz wasnt in the car and she was watching from the bridge?

They had a car accident, and his face was all screwed up. And he went around for a while after that, and he tried to get that hispanic chick to date him, but she wouldn't. So that made him depressed, and then he went to a company that put him into a sleep, and the rest of the movie was his dream during that sleep. But he didn't know that he was dreaming. He dreamt that a doctor fixed his face, and lots of other things. But then the dream company had a technological error, and weird things started happening in the dream, like he'd see one woman, then she'd turn into another woman. And I think he killed one of them. Then at the end the company realized they were having a technological error. I don't remember what happened then, or what his jumping off the building meant.

I hate that movie. I even did a speech on it in my class about how it was the worst movie I'd ever seen. (it isn't, but it's close)

It's not worth figuring out, because it's completely incoherent and unoriginal. Just one of the flurry of movies that were spawned by The Sixth Sense.

I wish I could answer that question, but I too, hated that movie. The only good thing about that movie was the McCartney title song. Maybe it was good since it elicited questions and responses like this?!!!

Jumping off the building would mean he would wake up from the dream that Lucid Dream had put him in and go back to his lonely life. Its an ok movie if you understand it. The ending is supposed to make you use your imagination and think "what is the future like" becuase a lot of time was supposed to have gone by since that guy told him they had the techknowledgy to fix his face now.

I THOUGHT THE FILM WAS ABOUT CRIOGENICS,AND EVERY THING AFTER THE SMASH EVERYTHING WAS A DREAM OR SOME ILLUSSION HIS BRAIN WAS HAVING
