Is it possible for a novice screenwriter to star in her own screenplay if sold?!

Question: I have wanted to act all my life but no luck, now I have started to write my own roles in screenplays...If a producer happened to like a script of mine, would I automatically get the role?

No, you would not automatically get the role. However, you could make it one of your conditions if they are willing to produce your work. This however might inhibit your ability to sell your work depending on your acting abilities.

Not necessarily. I don't think it would be a good idea to have a screenwriter play a role in his/her script.

Screenwriters tend to be behind the camera, making sure that the production stays true to the script.

why not think about producing it yourself?
that way u could assure urself more control
there are differnt types of producers on movies and the roles are hard to define sometimes but u can definately makes odds better for yourself by becoming more active in the production than just selling the script
