Yes definitely, she was great, what a great movie. I love Kate Blanchett also, but Marion was great at conveying the tortured Edith P.
Why was this question asked. It was probably the best top 5 performances of all time if I would have seen the movie before the oscars and she lost it would have been a damn shame I personaly think it was the best performance I can think of ever. And yes I saw every other nominated actresses movie from this year not even close.
Of course she deserved to win. Who had the chance to watch her movie, saw that her portrail of Piaf was simply amazing. I was very impressed, I knew who she was already, but I didn't know how talented she could be. She really deserved the Oscar.
