Which is better STAR TREK or STAR WARS ???!
Question: I finally wised up and put my answer to this question in a Word doc so all I had to do to answer this question when it comes up, and it does get asked probably 2 to 3 times a week, is cut and paste. Therefore:
I like them both but Star Wars wins by a landslide. The most ironic part of this is that aside from the fact that they both have the word Star in their titles and that they, for the most part, occur in space ... they really are nothing alike.
Star Trek is a earth based story about outer space. Star Wars has nothing to do with earth and happens in a galaxy far, far, away.
Both are great stories but Star Wars is better IMHO.

Star Wars is a better constructed story, whether as the episode III anew hope or as its entire six part story.
Star trek had better science and more social relevance but failed to deliver consistantly on writting and story. Wrath of Khan and undiscovered country are its best efforts. Unforunately after rodenberry's death the show has lost its direction and after alot of franchise authorised profitering and poor writing it may be dead as a franchise.
