What do movie showtimes in parentheses mean?!

Question: This may be really easy...

Answers: This may be really easy...

It just denotes the shows that are matinee, and therefore discounted from the regular adult price. At most theatres (at least in AZ), matinee ends at 5pm.

It means weekend shows... Those times only run on the weekends...

it depends on how they appear sometimes it may be the second showing of the movie

usually they mean that they are considered a matinee (earlier in the day) so the price is cheaper

...actually, at least in newspapers here in San Diego, the showtimes marked with parentheses, typically indicate matinee shows; usually, the movie theater chain grid in the newspapers, each of which show all of the movie titles being played that day, as well as their showtimes, will have a legend at the top and/or bottom of the grid, indicating what the varied symbols in the grid, actually stand for. Parentheses around certain showtimes might mean something different, from theater chain grid, to movie chain grid, but typically, they will indicate matinee shows...
