No one knows yet. The film has been the subject of a war between the director and the studio. The studio wants a cancer subplot cut from the film. They even ordered reshoots to remove this material, against the wishes of the filmmakers.

As of two weeks ago, the studio said that it was planning to release "Fanboys" on DVD later this year in two versions: the original "cancer" version and a "cancer-free" version.
