What was in the box that Gayatri Joshi Gave Shah Rukh in the movie, Swades?!
Question: I just saw the movie again and I saw how my mom started to cry during that scene; when Gayatri Joshi gives SRK a box that she represents India. (I think that's what she said?)
Does anyone know what exactly was in the box?
Cause I would love to create it for my mom... cause she misses India very much.

it is a box to keep spices in the kitchen.as you might be knowing many spices go into indian food .so these knd of boxes were kept in the kitchen so that all the spices are quick to find together.
nowdays its stainless steel version is being used in india and is usually round in shape.
you can get it made my a carpenter.it should be around 1.5 to 2 inches deep.
i m sure your mom will love it :)
p.s:and its not the box that gayatri says it represents india but the spices in it represent india
Hi. It had soil and a couple of other things. It had sindoor, tumeric pebbles and tulshi pata.
There were some spieces of india,so that king khan wont forget india.
