Is it true that the Godfather Trilogy Box is re-edited into one movie?!
Question: I read some reviewers on Amazon who say that the whole movie is re-edited into one long movie, and that Part1 starts with Veto's childhood instead of the famous scene of his daughter's wedding. Any have seen that box set can provide me an answer?

...I have, in my massive film collection, an official VHS tape set, placed in a slick black collector's box set (...sort of like what Universal did for "Scarface", a few years back, for it's limited edition DVD box set), released in a numbered limited edition by Paramount, and called "The Godfather: The Complete Epic (1902-1959)"; it takes all of the footage from the first two 'Godfather' films, shuffles in about an hour and half of extra footage, and re-edits/re-structures the whole kit-and-kaboodle in chronological order...
...this was the only instance where I have heard that this was done, as far as a purchaseable video release....

...I stand corrected; it looks like as far as an official release of ALL THREE FILMS put together in chronological order, with all of the extra footage, it appears that there was yet another limited edition collector's box set; however, it appears that it was also available only in videotape format.....
...Hmmmmm!!! I might just have to see if I can still get this, as it appears to not be as out-of-print, as the first one...

There have been some cuts of the Godfather trilogy melded together in a patchy sort of way which have popped up on TV from time to time (Godfather 3 i don't think was included though) however i haven't heard of an approved directors cut being put together like you mention.
I have the box set and it does not contain a cut of the film that lays the scenes out in chronilogical order. The box set contains each of the three movies and an additional dvd with your standard extra features on it.
I really enjoy reporting Amy. I wish they would ban people like that already.
It has been shown on TV as one long movie, so I would assue you could get it.
