The Godfather Trilogy?!
Question: I just finished watching all of the Godfather movies back to back (finally). But, I am a little confused about something on the third one. Vincent was Sonny's son. But when he was introduced in the begining by his aunt, she didn't say Vincent Coreleone. She said something that started with a M. He was also called the bastard child of Sonny during that scene as well. Also in one of the hospital scenes, Micheal told Vincent that his father (Sonny) had a way with women. Then towards the end, when Micheal made him Don, he said from now on he is Vincent Coreleone (if I'm not mistaken).
My questions are: What was Vincent's last name before being made Don? Was he Sonny's wife's child?

He was the illigitimate son of Sonny and Lucy Mancini. Sonny was shot when Vincent was still young and he had his mothers name until Michael amde him head of the family in the third film.
