That happened to me for real when I watched dream warriors, in the end the only way I could escape Freddy Kruger was to jump through the bay window in my living room.
When I woke up I was sitting in arm chair in living room, all was peaceful, nothing broken, but I swear I actually went to bed upstairs....weird.

Freddy has no real power over you, his modus operandi is to play on your fears and cause you to kill yourself. It will be a battle of wills, you need to fight fire with fire and play on his fears.
Freddy's worst fear is nuns.
Just remember hes probably as scared of you as you are of him. Just keep you eye on him if you are still nervous and if you really get freaked out then you can get a shoe and... oh wait, thats spiders isn't it?
