Which Les Miserables movie should i watch?!
Question: there seems to be a bunch of versions to this. i would go with the most recent one, but i heard they screwed up the story. i dont know the story, though, so, idk. which one should i go with?

I liked this version of Les Misérables (2000) (TV) with Gérard Depardieu (Green Card). But I don't know if you can rent a copy of it anywhere. You might have better luck renting this version: Les Misérables (1998). It stars the following cast:
Liam Neeson ... Jean Valjean
Geoffrey Rush ... Inspector Javert
Uma Thurman ... Fantine
Claire Danes ... Cosette
Here's the basic story: Jean Valjean, a Frenchman imprisoned for stealing bread, must flee a police officer named Javert. The pursuit consumes both men's lives, and soon Valjean finds himself in the midst of the student revolutions in France.
The 2000 version (which is actually a TV mini-series) is excellent.
The 1998 version with Lennie James, Liam Neeson, Geoffrey Rush, Uma Thurman, Claire Danes is also excellent.
The 1952 version is just ok..not really a great movie.
My Favorite version is the 1935 version with Charles Laughton and Fredric March.
