Has Chevy Chase starred any serious movies? Why does he apper in very silly movi!

Question: He appears in sill movies because he is good at physical comedy. Some comedic actors can make the transition to drama well (Robin Williams) but I don't think Chevy can. He has done a few TV roles but I just can't take him seriously.
