You want tragic!? Check out ARLINGTON ROAD!.
This is one of the best, and most surprising, endings you'll ever see in a movie!.
The storyline for those who haven't seen it!?
A man (Jeff Bridges) has a new set of neighbors (Tim Rollins & Joan Cusack) who he thinks are terrorists!. You go thru the movie thinking that Jeff is right, then you flip and think he's gone off the deep end!. This happens several times before the shocking ending!. Check it out if you've never seen it!. Definitely worth a look!.Www@Enter-QA@Com

Dawn of the Dead!?!? Saw 4!?!?

I think Romeo and Juliet and The Elephant Man are the safest bets for a good tragedy!. Some more contemporary ones are: Mystic River, House of Sand and Fog, American History X, One Flew Over the Cuckoo's Nest and, one of the best movies I've ever seen, Million Dollar Baby!.

These films are in a different category than The Mist and most of the movies mentioned here!. Don't get me wrong they can be very entertaining (I liked Dawn of the Dead), but just because theres a body count at the end of the film doesn't necessarily make it a tragedy!.

(Pan's Labyrinth was sensational but how was that ending tragic!?!?!?)Www@Enter-QA@Com

The Mist
Planet Of The Apes
Beneath The Planet Of The Apes
The Day After
Threads
Seven
Deep Rising

I`m so glad someone mentioned Mystic River!. I was going to ask if maybe you meant ironic, but it is tragic!. Oddly enough the book did not end in such a fashion!.Www@Enter-QA@Com

Mask with Eric Stolz!.

Don't think you can have anything worse in the ending of a film!. It cannot be any more depressing then this!. Throughout the movie your really feel for him and all the troubles and pains he goes through and dies in his mother's arms (Cher) from his illness!. When she replaces the tacks on his map of his dream to travel all over the country in remembrance of him, it just went beyond sad!.

I saw it when I was in high school and after the movie, my friends and I were so depressed we all went straight home without say much to each other at all!. I think I am still traumatized by that move and could not watch it again due to how painful it would be!. Especially when all I would think about is if that was my son and how tragic it would be!. I think I would die!.!.!.

Now that I gave it away, maybe you can be prepared to deal with it when you watch it!.Www@Enter-QA@Com
