Both are good films, bur "Stardust" is more satisfying, as it has a conclusion, whereas "Golden compass" is part of a trilogy(!?) of films, so has no ending, as such!.

The Golden Compass for sure! The movie is really good, has the best special effects I've seen yet and the story makes you ask for more!. Can't wait to see the other part!. I've seen Stardust too and I was honestly disapointed!. I tought the movie was boring!.Www@Enter-QA@Com
I liked both movies very much; however, Stardust had a finish to it, Golden Compass leaves ya hanging! And so I'll have to say Star Dust was the better movie!.
However, acting wise Golden Compass was superbly acted, therefore, I'll have to say Golden Compass was the better movie!.
Book wise, Stardust was just beautifully and sweetly written and reading Golden Compass is like reading Lord of the Rings, and after reading that one I have dreamt of fairies and elves every since!
With this global warming thing go on --I think I'll vote for the polar bear; so definitely Golden Compass!
