The name of a movie about a shipwreck....?!

A man loses his wife in death and he and his kids team up with a lady reporter to sail around the world!. But they get ship wrecked and while on the island, find a man's journal who crashed his airplane there!. They also encounter a bear and one of the kids almost drowns!. (This is the info I'm going with from my mom!. She's the one who wants to see and I'm not sure if I ever saw it!.) Must have come out between the 70-90s!.
