Because Pixar and Dreamworks have taken over the kid making movie industry, and kids nowadays aren't interested in all the gloomy stories that Disney is famous for, have you ever noticed, like ALL Disney movies have a child who has lost one or both their parents!? Or did you ever read the REAL Little Mermaid!. That's a bone chilling story right there!. Kids today wanna be hip with you know, Ogres and Squirrels and turtles and lions and zebras!. also, the new kids movies that are coming out, are entertaining for adults as well!. I know I really really enjoyed watching Bee Movie, from Jerry Seinfeld!. That was a quality movie right there!Www@Enter-QA@Com
Probably because they think that there is no market for it!. But Walt Disney was always about technological innovation so that might be another factor!.Www@Enter-QA@Com
They can do a lot more with CG!. They still do make traditional animations!. They may use new technology to make the process better but there are still artists drawing!.
Look up: "The Princess and the Frog" which comes out next year!. You'll see that it is largely a traditional looking disney animation!.Www@Enter-QA@Com

The CG stuff is made by Pixar, which of course is a CG-focused company!. Disney bought them out because they were so popular, when previously Disney just wanted them for a few movies (Pixar originally didn't make movies; it made those short clips you see at the beginning of the movies!.)
The CG stuff is very technologically focused, though sometimes ("Cars") they focus SO much on pretty effects that the story is really just an extended cliché!. Those traditional animated films were in fact pretty cutting edge technologically back when Disney came!. You see, Disney has always been about making unoriginal, cheesy things with fantastic technology!. Snow White was sappy and based on a story Disney didn't make, but at its time the production budget was huge and the technology was fantastic!. Current Disney movies remain saccharine and uninspired, but today's cutting-edge is far different from what it was when Disney first came about!.

Cost is the main factor!. Each hand painted cel takes time and at 20 cels per second, that adds up!. It is a lost art form!.Www@Enter-QA@Com
