Does anyone own Fear and Loathing in Las Vegas?!
Question: Does anyone own Fear and Loathing in Las Vegas!?
I want to buy the movie, but there are 2 different versions!.
The original Fear and Loathing in Las Vegas was released in 1998, and Fear and Loathing in Las Vegas: The Criterion Collection in 2003!.
Which one is better and why!?
(I know Johnny Depp is in it and the Criterion Collection should have extra special features)Www@Enter-QA@Com

Answers:
I own the Criterion Collection edition!. It is a 2 disc set!.
The first disc contains the digital transfer of the film with doldy digital sound, subtitles, several language audio, 3 seperate audio commentaries (featuring director Terry Gilliam, stars Johnny Depp and Benecio Del Toro, producer Laila Nabuski and writer Hunter S!. Thompson himself), and several enjoyable deleted scenes!.
The second disc has storyboards, production designs, photo gallery, video of Johnny Depp reading some of Hunter Thompson's letters and writings, a dcoumentary about the making of the film and Thompson's experiences in Hollywood, theatrical trailers and TV spots, artwork by Ralph Steadman, xcerpt from the book's audio CD read by several celebrities, and anopther documentary made in the 70s about Hunter S!. Thompson and illustrator Ralph Steadman!.
PLus the set comes in a really cool and original DVD case with special artwork and booklet filled with more artwork and essays by critics and several articles written by Hunter S!. Thompson!.
The regular DVD is just one disc with very few extras!.
Of course the Criterion is more expensive, but I feel is is definetley worth it!. Almost all DVDs put out by The Criterion Collection are more worthwhile than the regular DVDsfor films!.Www@Enter-QA@Com

Its a great movie -so buy both!
But seriously - I have the criterion version of Brazil and its great!.
My Fear & Loathing is on VHS (yes I've owned it since it first came out) so I might well buy the Criterion version myself
You say that you know Johnny Depp is in it - if you haven;t seen it - be warned - this is probably the only Johnny Deppfilm in which he is completely unsexy - that doesn;t make it a bad film - its awesome - but may be an odd experience for Depp fans
ThanxWww@Enter-QA@Com
