The Curse of Roscoe "Fatty" Arbuckle, could it be true?!

Question: The Curse of Roscoe "Fatty" Arbuckle, could it be true!?
I heard that a biography about the silent film star was to be made years ago!. The choice to play the lead was John Belushi!. After Belushi's death, the role went to John Candy!. After Candy's death the part went to Chris Farley!.

It seems that all of those given this part have met with an early demise!. Could this part be cursed!?Www@Enter-QA@Com

Answers:
I truly doubt that's the case!. All three of those actors were heavily into drugs, obese and very likely alcoholics!. Their lifestyle killed them, not any supposed link to Fatty Arbuckle!. This isn't the craziest rumor I've heard by far!.

Why did nothing happen to the star of "The Wild Party" (1975)!? That's about the Arbuckle incident!. James Coco played the role and survived for many more movies (12 more years, if I recall correctly)!.
IMDB synopsis:
Loosely based on the Fatty Arbuckle scandal, an aging Silent movie comic star tries for a comeback by staging a wild party that turns into a sexual free-for-all!. The comic ends up killing his mistress and her latest boyfriend!.
IMDB review:
Unforgettable, very well-done deptiction of decadent 1920s Hollywood!. Raquel Welch is superb as the desperate, sweet mistress of a deeply disturbed overweight and washed-up comic named Jolly Grimm, ably played by James Coco!. To resuscitate his career, Jolly throws a party that ends in tragedy!. Very loosely based on Fatty Arbuckles' story, this unforgettable and devastating film features fine support from Perry King as a Valentinoesque actor and especially from Tiffany Bolling as a lovely but unhappy starlet!. All in all, a Class A effort that should have gotten a better reception at the time but may well emerge as a cult classic!.

According to IMDB:
A screenplay about his life floated around Hollywood for years but never got sold!. At one point John Belushi was considered for the part then John Candy then Chris Farley!. All three died suddenly, and the script has been shelved indefinitely!.

I would say that, if they couldn't even sell the screenplay, it might be a lost cause!. If it was a good screenplay, surely someone would have filmed it by now!. Besides, all three of those actors were nothing like Roscoe Arbuckle!. At least James Coco was playing someone with a different name; he didn't resemble the comedian either!. Actually, a younger Stephen Furst might have been closer, and he's still around!.Www@Enter-QA@Com
