The legal profession in UK is divided into two separate branches!.

SOLICITOR
Solicitors are the lawyers to whom a citizen goes when they want legal advice or help with a case etc!.

BARRISTERS
Barristers work in chambers and it is these 'lawyers' you will see in an English court of law, wearing white powdered wigs and black gowns - all very 18thC!.

A solicitor is a LawyerWww@Enter-QA@Com

A solicitor is like a lawyer!. They give legal advice and prepare the case before it goes to court!. They may also represent people but usually only in a magistrate's court!.

In contrast; a barrister can represent people in more serious cases but barristers rarely deal with the people involved in the case!. In such cases, a solicitor will advise the client and a barrister will represent them in court!.Www@Enter-QA@Com
