How do you remove suntan lotion from DVDs?!

Question: How do you remove suntan lotion from DVDs!?
My dad put a cracked bottle of suntan lotion spray on top of my DVD, and now there is all sorts of crap on the back, and the label is crumpled up and peeling!. I tried playing it, and it displays a new frame about every five second without any audio, and I can't get to the title menu!. Is there any way I can fix this, or do I have to buy a new one!?Www@Enter-QA@Com

You can have your DVD professionally cleaned, and if necessary, resurfaced-but I strongly advise against it!.

Instead, just try finding a DVD repair kit at your local electronics store!. Do not buy one with a machine, you do not need it and the machines usually do more harm than good!. You are looking for a bottle of special chemical cleaner and some soft cloths!. Follow the directions in the kit!. If you have sensative hands or skin, use soft cloth gloves- the stuff is not toxic, but it does irritate my skin-unless I wash my hands after I clean my DVDs!.

1!. Start in the center of the DVD and move in a straight line to the outer edge!.
2!. Repeat the process until you have wiped the entire playing surface of the DVD!.
3!. Make sure you use a clean cloth-no sense putting greas and grime back on the disc!. also, the cleaning solution cakes on the cloth and can cause scratches on your discs!.

If you can not find the chemical cleaner, just use water!. It will not be as good as the chemicals, but it will not hurt your DVD, unless you have lots of iron and other chemicals in your water!.Www@Enter-QA@Com

I use rubbing alcohol and a tissue followed by a dust resistant cloth!. The fact you used a dtergent may have all ready done more damage that can be repaired!. Detergent is abrasive and can cause scratches!. So, best you can do withoout going out of your way to buy things that cost almost as much as the movie itself is to open a bottle of alcohol and rub the surfaces as long as it takes to see a difference!. You could also try a waterpick and or to place the disk warm water over night!. But rubbing alcohol is the cheapest and most effective way to clean it!. Good Luck!.Www@Enter-QA@Com
