Anakin appears in Star Wars Episode VI?!

Question: Anakin appears in Star Wars Episode VI!?
I just watched episode VI and at the end of the movie instead of the old Anakin/Darth Vader's spirit appearing with Yoda and Obi-won, the young Anakin from episodes II and III appeared!. In the older versions of the movie the old Anakin appears, even the new releases with added creatures that came to theatre!. But this one that I just bought has the young Anakin!. Has any one else heard of this happening!? What's up with the change and why isn't it on all of the disks!?Www@Enter-QA@Com

First things first !.!.!. I busted "markwillstar"'s chops on a similar question a week or so ago to which he gave a similar response!. After doing some digging around I have found that he is right and I was wrong about them doing it after ep II!. In a very weak attempt to defend myself I can say that since the DVD versions came out in Sept of 2004 most of the stuff was done for the movies and it was in the editing room so they did know what Anakin would look like before he burst into flames!. Didn't think an arrogant fool like me could say "sorry" did you !.!.!. oh believe me, it was hard !.!.!. lol !.!.!.

As for the question !.!.!. talking about the infamous "Ghost Switch" to a more hard core fan like myself has been known to bring on a rant but 1am is way to late for a rant !.!.!. lol !.!.!.

The first thing you have to remember about this is that there are 3 versions of the OT (Original Trilogy) out there in the world !.!.!. the Original OT, the ones released in 77, 80, 83 !.!.!. the SE versions that were released to theaters in 1997!. This version had enhanced FX and a few minor changes to some of the scenes!. The only one in that version to tick fans off was the "who shot first" thing between Han & Greedo!. In the OT Han shot first !.!.!. In the SE Lucas changed it so that Greedo shot first and that Han killed him in self-defense !.!.!. this really didn't sit well with fans but we let it slide!. They also edited out the eyebrows that Sebastine Shaw as the "unmasked Vader" !.!.!. in the OT he had big busy eyebrows, let to many a stupid eyebrow jokes back in the day!. One other major change in the SE version was the scene with Han and Jabba talking at the Falcon's dockingbay!. It ended up on the cutting room floor because they didn't know how to make Jabba look back then!. It's actually a cool scene!.

Then come the DVD versions!. This is where it hit the fan!. Again, Lucas tweaked the FX !.!.!. changed it so that Han & Greedo shot at the same time, it looks so fake now that it's not even funny, !.!.!. he remade the scene in The Empire Strikes Back where Vader and the Emperor are talking about a great distrubance in the Force !.!.!. which was how Luke's training affected the Force in general, in this version the Emperor tells Vader that he is certain that this new "threat" is the son of Anakin Skywalker !.!.!. I won't bore you with the whole scene but it was awesome and a great tie in with the pre-quels!. Now, the "Ghost Switch" !.!.!. not only did they put Hayden in Shaw's place at the end !.!.!. if you look close after Luke takes off his mask you will see that the eyes are different !.!.!. they superimposed Hayden's eyes onto Shaw in that scene!. One of the main reasons that Lucas give for doing this is what "mark" said !.!.!. he wanted to used it as one more thing that would tie the two trilogies together!. I think fans would have still been mad but would have lived with it if Lucas had left it at that !.!.!. he didn't!. The other reason he gave for doing it was that a Jedis "Force Ghost" is that of his own image when he died and that Anakin died when he became Darth Vader!. It doesn't work !.!.!. even the data banks at starwars!.com don't agree with this statement !.!.!. there it says that Anakin Skywalker died in the arms of his son in a dockingbay on board Deathstar II!.

Call me crazy, everyone else does, but it you think about it there is a very good chance that Lucas did this on purpose because he knew the uproar it would cause in Star Wars Fan Ville !.!.!. it is an issue that both sides have lined up on the battle line awaiting the "fire" order !.!.!. In the end it's the perfect way to ensure that somebody somewhere is always talking about Star Wars!.

May The Force Be With You !.!.!.

well, in the newly released dvd versions of episode 6 they put in the new anikan because they wanted to show the light side anikan, not the dark side darth vader person!.Www@Enter-QA@Com

I tell you one thing: Sebastian Shaw's bold eyebrows have been changed into Hayden Christensen's due to the DVD releases!. also, on the Endor party scene, Sebastian's head was transformed into Hayden's on Sebatian's body, I think!.Www@Enter-QA@Com
