Question: Do you remember the early juke boxes, that had a movie screen, and showed the singer as they sang !?
Most juke boxes back then took a nickle to play, and this one was a music 'video' before the event of television,so it was a looped film showed on a screen from a projector!. Yes the porno shops back then had them to!. The one song I remember seeing, was "Oh how I hate to get up in the morning" by Irving Berlin!. It was in a bar, and kids kept busy putting nicles in the nickelodeonWww@Enter-QA@Com

I think the audiovisual device you are talking about was called the "Panoram"!. They were jukebox style machines made in the 1940's that showed 3 minute film clips (also called "Soundies")!. The Panoram was made to entertain restaurant and bar clientèle!. However, these machines not only featured popular musicians, they also showed vaudeville skits, spoken stories and dance numbers for audience amusement!.
These machines were revolutionary because it introduced their audience to all forms of music and was especially influential introducing blues & jazz to the white mainstream!.Www@Enter-QA@Com

Yes I played one in a tavern in Brooklyn!. The scene you mentioned was Irving himself, on an army cot, in a barracks!. The film was grainy, and the sound-tract terrible, but we loved it!. When TV came on strong, and the jukes went to 45rpm's, people forgot the fad!. I grew up on Long Island, not far from Camp Upton Yaphank, where Irving went to boot-camp!.
