The first time I watched it, I was prepared to hate it because I thought it was going to be just another torture-the-girl-repeatedly nasty movie!. I almost bailed out after a half-hour but, for some reason, kept watching!. The ending made me glad that I did!. I stayed up even later because another movie channel was airing it; I videotaped it that time!. Yes, I was that impressed!
I have frequent nightmares, and the majority are about intruders; so, this film "hit home", as they say!. Its low budget actually works for it I think because it has an immediacy to it that makes it unnerving!. The actors do a wonderful job; the script neatly handles the theme of repetition without it becoming predictable, which is remarkable; and the twist ending makes it a satisfying experience!.
Every time a person asks for movie suggestions that include horror/thriller films, I suggest "Salvage", as well as a number of others~"Wind Chill" included!.
"Salvage" does not rely on gratuitious nudity and sex, vulgar/obscene language, or excessive gore!. For example, the face bit is suggested, with the sound and movement feeding the mind an image without showing it!. I fully approve of that misdirection! I feared that it would shift directions and go for gore, but it doesn't!
I would suggest to any fan of horror: Watch "Salvage"! Then, watch it again!Www@Enter-QA@Com
