They moved it to 2009 because the original release date coincided with the Writers Strike, and the studio felt they could not effectively advertise it given that TV ratings dropped during this time!.
They chose 2009 because star Brendan Fraser had several other movies coming out in 2008 that they did not want to compete with!.Www@Enter-QA@Com

It's a huge production, they probably needed more time just to pull off all the speacial effects stuff they have to do!. Every scene in that movie will have some extremly challenging aspect to it, dramatic, hard acting, stunts and fighting, speacial effects, not to metion the score has to be completed!. I've worked with movies before, I know the drill!.!.!. cut em' a little slack!.Www@Enter-QA@Com
