Answers:
have you seen the movie!? the last scene, where they turn the corner, and life goes on as usual answers your question!.

The theme of the movie is how something as big as God could show up in NYC and bring a message of love and peace - a response to the anti-war movement of the 1960s - and be killed by the very thing that his message was against!. Vatican II brought a new era of political involvement for Catholocism, and some would say that the reason the "disciples" in the movie are dressed as clowns, is because is is a statement against the politics of the Vatican (calling them clowns or puppets)!. They are allegorical also of the Pharasees and Saducees - the ones who killed Jesus!.

So the overall gist is that God brough a message of love, the religious people killed it, and so life will go on as usual- without peace, love or change!.Www@Enter-QA@Com

you need to watch the movie!. there is really too much to explain!. it's an amazing musical!. the original was done in the early 70's---a time of caos here!. i think most things written during this time were a reaction to the 60's---all the free love and do what you want without any regard to how it affects others!. it's basically a show about being responsible for your own actions, treating other people with respect and how a belief in God is a good thing!. but it also showing that christians are just as "good" as catholics---does that make any sense!? i've seen the show numerous time, so if you have any specific questions you can e-mail me!.Www@Enter-QA@Com
