Because compared to today's movies deliverance is pretty tame!. When the movie first came out it was considered controversial!. A male rape was just something that you did not see!. You hardly ever saw female one!. Rape is a very touchy subject!.Www@Enter-QA@Com
It isn't a bad film, it's a classic!. But it does have a scene where a character played by Ned Beatty is raped by demented hillbillies, and made to squeal like a pig!. It was based on a best-selling novel by James Dickey!. The story is about four Atlanta businessmen (Burt Reynolds, Jon Voight, Ned Beatty and Ronny Cox) who decide to spend a weekend canoeing down a hazardous mountain river on a wilderness journey that turns into a nightmare!.Www@Enter-QA@Com
If you need to ask you haven't paid attention when watching the movie---watch it a few times and pay attention to how what happens changes each of the men--for the worse--how they all, including the hillbillies, become uncivilized so quickly, especially when threatened and scared!.
