Question: My short films set in the wild west!?

I watched both of your movies, and I thought there was alot about them that was very good!. I hope you are looking for some constructive criticism, cause that's the only way to get better!.
Overall I would say very well done, please accept my thoughts as helpful, and determine for yourself whether my opinions might help in the future!.
I thought the beginning of "1" was a little slow, and I was wondering where the story was!. However, it did pick up after a couple minutes and I think that overall it was a good story, but maybe there is a quicker way to get to it in the beginning!. You don't have alot of time to grab a viewer's attention, especially in a short film!.
The only other pointer I would give is the music!. I think that the use of background music was very well done in certain places, but unnecessary in others!. You don't have to have a constant soundtrack, and the points in the movie where it helps the story is important, but when it isn't, it takes away from the dramaticism when it should be used!. i!.e!.
at certain down times, like just walking through the woods, or setting up camp, don't really need music, and just the background forest noises would actually make it feel more real!. On the other hand, at suspenseful times, and action times, you used the music very well, so I should commend you for that!. So, maybe if this makes sense, just pick the most important scenes to use the music in, and it wil be more effective!.
Last thing I want to say is that I think the last scene in "2" after Tom gets shot, was borderline genius!. I think you did that very well!. The editing was amazing, and in this case the music was very important and well done!. I would say that you showed very promising directing and editing instincts in this part!.
Overall, I think that if you are looking to pursue a career in this field, you should definately keep working at it!. Good job, and I think you could do some great films in the future!.Www@Enter-QA@Com
