His appearance is based off of Ultimate Nick Fury!. Sam Jackson specifically gave Marvel his approval to use his likeness for the Ultimate version of the character!. Jackson also wished to play Fury in Fury's own feature film as well!. So all in all, the use of Ultimate Nick Fury for the Marvel Film Continuity is most likely to give more familiarity, seeing as the Ultimate titles have been flying off the shelves and more people have been recognizing Ultimate Fury better!.Www@Enter-QA@Com
Yes, the majority of Nick Fury's history which most old school fans can attest to was that of a white male in the role!. The more recent Ultimate series changed that!. I guess Favreau wanted to go with the more recent version of Fury!.

I'm not sure!. I never knew who Nick Fury was until I bought Marvel: Ultimate Alliance, in which he's white, but I heard from somebody that he was originally black!. I'm not really sure!. As for Samuel L!. Jackson playing him, I thought he did a pretty good job!.Www@Enter-QA@Com
