I always like "Beauty & Beast" theme movies!.
Ever since I watched the Disney's version and Edward Scissorhands (I think the latter is a sad-ending Beauty & The Beast), I'm kinda obsessed with this kind of story!.

You might try Jean Renoir's classic,"La Belle et Le Bete(Beauty &The Beast,natch) it's a beautifully rendered telling of the timeless story and the later Disney version(also brilliantly done)owes a lot to this French import(if you watch carefully,you'll see what I mean) and although it's black and white,don't let that stop you from checking out this enchanting retelling of the tale!.
