There was a quite appalling one (acting wise) out a few years back called "Chasing the deer"!. The premise of the story is about a boy growing up during the Jacobite Wars!. His Dad wants nothing to do with any side, but one day he is kidnapped by some Jacobites & forced to join them!. This is not before he has a liaison with his girlfriend & knocks her up!. Anyway, the Jacobites he is with get ambushed & he is pressganged into the government army!. His dad goes to find him & joins the jacobites!. They face each other on opposite sides at Culloden!. The film ends with his girlfriend giving birth to their child!.

The acting was pretty bad & the script corny beyond belief in places, but the story was OK!. Brian Belssed was in that one, as well as Fish from Marillion!. They filmed a lot of that in Fort George near Inverness (despite it not being built until after Culloden)!. They got a Polish actor to play Bonnie Prince Charlie in it!.

The same people that made that movie did "Scotland's answer to Braveheart" 'The Bruce'!. That was well intentioned but clumsy & poorly acted in many ways!. Wold from The Gladiators was De Bohun in that one!. His acting was as wooden as the spears the Scots had in the Battle Scenes of Braveheart!.Www@Enter-QA@Com

Did you see Braveheart!? - it's exactly what you're describing!.

Robroy is set in Ireland, not Scotland but is definitely the same sort of story!.Www@Enter-QA@Com
