Question: Does anyone know if the format for DVDs is the same in the US and Australia!?
So, for example if I sent a movie from here (oz) to the States, would m friend be able to play it on her DVD and vice versa!?Www@Enter-QA@Com
Answers:
US is region 1, and Australia is region 4!.
That means that a DVD encoded for Australia cannot play on an American DVD player and vice versa!. Unless the DVD is well, pirated, it won't work!.Www@Enter-QA@Com

Australia uses PAL!. US zoned dvds are NTSC!. If she has a universal DVD player which enables both PAL and NTSC playback, she will be able to watch it!. If she doesn't have one, she can't watch it and you'd be wasting your time and money!.Www@Enter-QA@Com
or also you could get a region 0 dvd, which is unrestricted and plays fine in both Australia (region 4) and USA (region 1)!.Www@Enter-QA@Com
