Question: My first independent film! Where do I start!?
So I've written a screenplay and everyone who has read it says that I need to do whatever I can to get the film made even if it kills me!. I plan on directing the film and also starring in a supporting role!. I've made short films before but this film is on a whole different level!. How do I go about getting this film produced and financed!?Www@Enter-QA@Com

You have to raise as much money as you can, which is practically impossible!. Everyone will tell you the obvious ("ask relatives for money") but just do what you can!. Shoot on a 3 ccd camera (like the xl2) using "film" 24p mode!. Cast and get crew off craigslist and tell them there is no money, only credits and if you get your film in a film festival, you will get the IMDB credits (many people starting out will kill for IMDB credits)!. Make sure EVERYONE working for you signs a release form, this is the most important thing, so they can't later try and get money from you!. also, you've probably written your script without a monetary number in mind, but since you're going to shoot it, you need to revise the scenes that have big locations or casts, so that you can shoot it yourself for practically nothing!.

Read books from indie film makers and learn the tricks of the trade, I know Kevin Smith wrote one!.
You probably won't need more than a few thousand bucks but make sure you know the legal ramifications of what you're doing before you do anything!.
