in 1976 Jeff Bridges starred in a pretty bad remake of King Kong where it was a Oil mogul who is going to the island (on purpose) and discovers kong there!.
When we see him die at the end of the movie he isnt totaly dead and is put in a hollding facility who's doctors intend to replace his weakening heart!.
Kong Lives (sometime in the 80's)
Some island: a research group comes upon a female kong and she is taken to a facility not far from the dying kong!. Once his heart is replaced however he wakes up and senses her!.
After a break out from both facilities, the kongs head into the hills where a former scientist (played by Linda Hamilton) and her ascosiate must figure out how long Kong can survive on his new heart and try to save him!.
As he is dying in the end (again), the female gives birth to Kong jr!.
there was talk at one time of "Son of Kong"
