300 is based on an old greek legend!. i guess the filmmakers wanted to keep something tied to the original legend and in that story, the persian king xerxes never even communicated with leonidas!. he was afraid to even show himself on the battlefield!. he always watched from afar!. now most of this movie alraedy strays away from that old tale (there was no "uber immortal" or giant rhino beast or ogre with saws on his arms) but the director wanted to also make the ending a bit more epic so he mustve put xerxes at the front line and the whole "wounding a god-king" shpeel in there for kicks!. as far as i know, nobody ever said that xerxes was unharmableWww@Enter-QA@Com
