Although it is a matter of personal taste, my choice (and that of many critics) would be Mel Brooks' classic spoof, YOUNG FRANKENSTEIN!.
Not only was the script a piece of genius comic writing, and the actors superb, but the entire film was true to the original classic Universal horror films, Frankenstein, and Bride of Frankenstein!. The set designer even tracked down some of the original electrical equipment that had been used in the original films of the late 30's--40's!.
So, my vote goes to Mr!. Brooks and to Young Frankenstein!.Www@Enter-QA@Com

i dont think you can get much better than that!. its funny, but not too over the top like most spoof movies (i!.e!. hot shots, and those horrible epic/superhero/date movies)
