It is in the works!. Peter Jackson (director of The Lord of the Rings movies) will produce it but Guillermo Del Toro is directing and has said that he wants Ian McKellan to play Gandalf again and he says he wants to but no contract yet!. It is still probably a couple of years away as the production hasn't even started yet (shooting for 2010)!. They are working on screenplay currently!.Www@Enter-QA@Com
Yes, they are making a film of The Hobbit, but sadly it will show in 2011!. Ian McKellen will play Gandalf and Andy Serkis will reprise his roll as Gollum, but I'm sure about Bilbo!. I don't think they will because he is so old!.!.!.Www@Enter-QA@Com
