I know quite a few [straight] guys who do enjoy a good musical!. My boyfriend isn't such a big fan, but he does like "My Fair Lady" and a few others!.
As far as convincing your boyfriend to go with you, why don't you make a compromise!? Offer to do something he really loves that you don't really enjoy in exchange for a night at the theater!. But if your boyfriend ends up going with you, and it's clear that he's miserable that won't be as much fun for you either!. Try finding a friend who would enjoy the experience as much as you do!.Www@Enter-QA@Com

i like things like grease more and moulin rogue!. my boyfriend wouldn't even go to see sweeny todd with me but you could do this:
well me and my guy we take turns picking what a movie we want to see!. one week he will pick his usual action movie and then the next time we go to the movies i'll pick whatever i want to see!. that way he has to go with you to your movie because you sat through his movie choice

If I could sit through "Hello, Dolly" (Barbra Streisand version) last night for 2!.5 hrs, (on PBS, no commercials) then ANY guy can do it!.!.!.!.!.!.And I have to say, the musical numbers were pretty impressive!.!.!.!.!.
