!.!.!.what was quite interesting and unusual about this film, is that the movie opens up as a story in progress; Lugosi's vampire character, Armand Tesla, is quite virtually staked at the beginning of the film (!.!.!.1918), and then revived a few years later (!.!.!.around WWII)!. With the exception of a vague subplot, identifying Tesla as originally a scientist, who in dabbling into the supernatural became a vampire (!.!.!.though for apparent stereotypical reasons, Lugosi was dressed in a traditional garb, not too removed from his 'Dracula' ensemble), the film's scenarios are seemingly established, right off the bat!. Another interesting observation, is Tesla's werewolf assistant, Andreas; Columbia Pictures distributed "Return of the Vampire", but if you compare this movie with Columbia's 1956 horror entry, "The Werewolf", the lycanthropic make-up between the two werewolf characters are nearly exactly the same!.!.!.!.almost as if the same design (!.!.!.or even make-up artist) was used!.!.!.!.

!.!.!.unfortunately, "Return of the Vampire" didn't exactly remove the stereotypical stigma of Lugosi being most known as playing Dracula, or even a Dracula-like character, like this; if anything, the film further cemented that notion!.!.!.!.!.Www@Enter-QA@Com

I thought Lugosi's last role was in Plan 9 From Outer Space, in 1959!. He only worked one day before he died, and was doubled for his remaining scenes by the Director, Ed Woods', chiropractor who was taller, slimmer and considerably younger!. He disguised himself by holding his cape in front of his face!.

Lugosi's last completed role in a more mainstream film was The Black Sleep (1956)!.Www@Enter-QA@Com
