Rod Stieger.....I can't remember the name of this movie.?!

I saw this movie a long time ago!. The period the movie took place was about the mid-evil times!. It was a dark movie where Stieger was a land baron it seemed and there where two woman involved, who he had very kinky affairs with!. There was a dark sinister feel throughout the entire movie!. He eventualy killed both women by bringing them to the middle of this lake in a small row boat and drowned them!. Does anyone recall this movie and know its name!?
