Answers:
Very few of the Sci-Fi movies are done with any form of quality!.

However, Battlestar Galactica, Stargate SG-1, Stargate Atlantis, three of the most popular Sci-Fi series in modern times, Galactica being the problem child, because all of the Canadian and New Zealand production crews dont understand that we dont like the 'dark' sets!.

Other items that Sf needs to address;
1) No movie which has Dean Cain, Bruce Campbell, or Dolf Lundgrum in will be popular!.
2) Ripley's Believe it or not is not sci-fi, it is a documentary, and it has Dean Cain in it!.
3) Why do the lead male, and lead female have to be a seperated couple in every disaster movie!?
4) Why does this estranged couples child always get kidnapped/trapped/lost!?

One thing which amused me, was Stargates final episode, Stargate-Ark of Truth, which was an excellent movie, never appeared on the Sci-Fi Chanel, only on DVDWww@Enter-QA@Com

From what I have seen, most of their features are very campy-looking throwbacks to the low budget sci-fi/horror movies of the 1950s!. From one point of view, you could say that the intention is to grab a larger audience share of those who may not necessarily like sci-fi per se but who will watch something sci-fi-ish!. But you can also argue that it is a slap to the face of those who like genuine "sci-fi" (i!.e!. difference between Star Trek and Star Wars)!. I am actually kind of surprised that they haven't managed to produce one really good sci-fi movie worthy of respect from this community!.Www@Enter-QA@Com

If they were willing to invest serious money and get a decent script, they could, but a lot of their films seem to have come from a time capsule that was buried in the 50s!.

Geez, they are just SOOOOOOOOOOOOOO bad!.Www@Enter-QA@Com

Other than Tin Man, most of their movies are the creature of the week stuff!. After awhile you get sick of them!. I think the network has forgot its core audience and goes for cheap ratingsWww@Enter-QA@Com

You know this should have been the kind of thing they thought about during the writers strike!. They could have probably got a better group of writers than they normally get for not a whole lot more expensive than what they would normally pay!. Then instead of seeking out some B-movie director they should have gotten the director of Battlestar Galactica or maybe Stargate to direct it!. It would have to have been considerably better than all the other crap they come up with just from those two steps!.

But, realistically I don't see it happening without a considerable increase in the films allotted budget!. If they were to increase the films budget enough for it to actually be good featuring: A strong cast, a good plot, a good director, and blockbuster worthy special effects; They'd probably take it to theatres before they would just broadcast it on tv, they would realize potential profit from it being greater than what they would get from sci-fi!.com sales of the DVD!.Www@Enter-QA@Com
