Why hasn't there been more movies made about 9/11?!

Question: Why hasn't there been more movies made about 9/11!?
There have been 2 major theatrical releases so far, plus an indirect reference made in Adam Sandler's 'Reign Over Me'!. I'm a little surprised that there hasn't been a glut of films retelling each viewpoint of this tragedy!.Www@Enter-QA@Com

Several reasons:

1!. Touchy subject!.

2!. Tough subject matter to do for a movie where the good guys are supposed to win, and the audience expects a happy ending!. Especially when there is NO happy ending, and the supposed "good" guys are not winning!. Example: over $800 Billion spent in the Iraq war and counting, over 4,000 soldiers dead, over 200,000 wounded and/or crippled for life, and all the politicians agree that the US is gonna be in Iraq for several decades more with no end in sight!.

Oh, and there's STILL a big hole in NY where the towers used to be!.

3!. It needs a good script and director!. The ONLY good movie based on 9/11 was United 93 because it went the route of telling the story in a documentary style!. It had nothing to do with glamorizing the events by adding big name Hollywood actors, special FX, or any of that shite!.

World Trade Center was NOT a good movie!. What was the reason to put Nic Cage, probably one of the worst actors around, in a serious movie like this!? Totally uncessary!.Www@Enter-QA@Com

I think the reason we don't see Hollywood producing more 9/11 movies is because the War is not popular and there are so many actors/actresses who have voiced their negative opinion about it - makes it hard when directors and actors together are turning the other cheek when a script surfaces!.

I think there have been many scripts forwarded for review/consideration - it's too bad politics, in this case, dictate what the general public would like to see!.

Having served for 24 years and having three boys serving in the military today - I personally believe we should see more about 9/11!. It will remind the people what we are fighting for and why we help those who can't help themsevles because of genocide/dictatorships!.

Some of the leading Hollywood folks who have openly voiced a negative opinion about the war include (based on a combined USA Today and Washington Post article I found):

- Legendary film director Martin Scorsese has had choice words as of late concerning Iraq as well!.
- Michael Farrell, Susan Sarandon, David Duchovny, Matt Damon, Sean Penn, Jane Fonda (no surprise there), Martin Sheen, Jessica Lange, Kim Basinger and Uma Thurman - just to name a few!.

I wonder why the movie stars who claimed they would move out of the country if Bush went to war are still living here!?Www@Enter-QA@Com

There have been a lot, lot, lot of 9/11 movies to come out, and frankly everyone has gotten sick of them, it was a devastating tradgedy, but we need to move on with our lives and make the world better because of the terror that ensued!. The viewers have realised that crying over it won't help anyone 7 years later, and that rather than putting out more sub-par movies, we should try and make a difference!Www@Enter-QA@Com

there have been quite a few!. there's one -> world trade center about the firefighters and policemen and one more about the flight that crashed itself and all the passengers!. united 93!. there are quite a few documentries too - farenheit 9/11, 9/11Www@Enter-QA@Com

I would say there hasn't been very much done on 9/11 because it's a very touchy subject!.Www@Enter-QA@Com
