There's a very good scene like this in Sweeney Todd!. I believe there's also scenes like this in Phantom of the Opera, however the scene in Sweeney Todd is probably most likely what you're looking for!. It features people dancing in the 1800s era in London with animal masks, such as pigs, lions, cats, birds, etc!. as they drink alcohol!. The costumes and masks in this scene are beautiful!.
also, there are many short film versions of Poe's 'Masque of the Red Death,' a story about people locked inside a castle who dance from sun up to sun down in masks and costumes!. This is similar to the Sweeney Todd style!.Www@Enter-QA@Com

Don't forget "The Masque of Red Death" from American International pictures!. Most of the film contains an extended masquerade ball like you are describing!. In the sixties, that would have been the best known movie featuring a masquerade ball!.Www@Enter-QA@Com
